The Jubilee Fund helps build communities

Affordable Housing

The Jubilee Fund works with local organizations and housing co-ops to provide loans and/or bridge financing for renovations, in-fill housing or new housing units in low-income neighbourhoods.

Small Business

Sometimes the only thing keeping a smart business idea from taking off is a little cash and moral support. That, in essence, is what the Jubilee Fund is all about.

Community/Social Projects

The Jubilee Fund supports the development and expansion of non-profit daycare operations and training centres.

The Jubilee Fund Inc. provides loan guarantees to individuals and organizations looking to develop economic initiatives that promote self-reliance, human dignity and a better quality of life for the individual and the community. We do not give grants.

These individuals and projects would not be eligible for loans from traditional banks or credit unions.

Major Changes Happening on North Main

Neechi Commons First-Phase to Open September 2011

Neechi Foods Co-Op Ltd. has taken a big step towards helping to transform Main Street

north of the CPR underpass. In August, 2009 the Co-Op purchased 49,400 sq. ft. of property alongside the North Point Douglas and Lord Selkirk Park neighbourhoods at the former California Fruit Market site.

The Jubilee Fund played a key role in making this happen by securing 29 % of the loan from Assiniboine Credit Union used by Neechi to buy the site  and some equipment.

In the Fall of 2010, work started on the first phase of the five million dollar redevelopment plan that will include a new Neechi Foods supermarket, retailers and office tenants. The new store will double the size of its present location on Dufferin Street and provide a much higher-profile to drive-by traffic.  This development will bring a major boost to the region
