Community Outreach Manager

The Jubilee Fund is a registered charity in Manitoba that provides loan guarantees and bridge financing to community groups and organizations looking to develop economic initiatives that promote self-reliance, human dignity and a better quality of life for the individual and the community. These organizations and projects would not be eligible for or have difficulty accessing traditional loans from banks or credit unions. With a revolving fund approaching one million dollars, the Fund has over the years leveraged close to $13 million in economic activity. More information is available at www.jubileefund.ca

The Fund wishes to hire a Community Outreach Manager, effective January 3rd, 2012. This full-time position will report to the Board of Directors. A good knowledge of community organizations, excellent interpersonal abilities and ability to prioritize and work alone.

Skills, Qualifications & Major Responsibilities

1. Community Economic Development (CED).

  • Experience working with CED practices and principles.
  • Experience working with community organizations & with diverse groups.
  • Outreach to & identify potential clients/projects.
  • 2. Communication (verbal & written) Skills

  • Partnership networking with related agencies & individuals.
  • Outreach and presentations to community organizations.
  • Outreach and meeting with potential clients.
  • Outreach to existing clients, keeping abreast what is happening, future plans & needs.
  • Outreach to Media & developing working relationships.
  • Develop Social Media Presence for the Jubilee Fund.
  • 3.Project Development & Loan Risk Management.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports & business plans.
  • Identify management capacity deficits & identify mentors to assist where needed.
  • 4. Administration.
  • Familiarity with MS Office.
  • Maintain & update records on all projects funded.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Executive & Board of Directors.
  • Co-ordinate committee meetings, including preparation of agenda and other pertinent information.
