For the past 38 years, Marlene has worked with her husband Guy in the family insurance agency, Coughlin Insurance Brokers. Their four children joined the business twenty-seven years ago. Marlene has done secretarial work and bookkeeping for their agency and she still works each Friday helping with a portion of the bookkeeping.
Marlene is a member at St. John Brebeuf Parish and has served as Secretary and chairperson of St. John Brebeuf School Board. Presently, she takes the minutes for the Parish Pastoral Council and is a Eucharistic Minister. Marlene serves as an Associate of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary and is a volunteer at the Holy Names House of Peace. In addition, Marlene participates in a prayer group, book club and two bridge clubs. Previously, Marlene served on the Mother's Guild Board at St. Paul's High School from 1975 -1977, two years as secretary.
Marlene was educated by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary at St. Ignatius School and St. Mary's Academy. Marlene has been married to C.J. (Guy) Coughlin for 51 years. In addition to her four children, Marlene has twelve grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys knitting and quilting.
