Rev. William (Bill) Gillis
Bill Gillis retired at the end of July 2009 from ministry within The United Church of Canada after having served for more than thirty-nine years. Originally from Nova Scotia, Bill began his pastoral ministry there and moved to Manitoba in 1981 where he was in pastoral ministry in Stonewall and area.
Later he moved to a staff position with Winnipeg Presbytery of The United Church and then to the staff of the Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario where he has served for the past fifteen years. His last portfolio was Conference Minister for Stewardship, Mission & Global Justice.
In his work he has been connected with United Church Outreach and Community Ministries within the region. Bill has been interested in the goals and visions of the Jubilee Fund from its inception and has been an interpreter of its work within the United Church constituency.
Bill and his partner, Diane, have an adult son and daughter and a grandson.
Bill was elected to The Jubilee Fund Inc. Board of Directors in May 2009 and to the Executive in April 2010.
