Two New Low-Income Housing Units
Built in West Broadway
In 2007, Kikinaw Housing Inc. purchased two derelict houses on Furby Street with a loan provided from the Jubilee Fund. The houses were demolished and the land sat vacant until now when the opportunity arose for the construction of two new high efficiency four-plex homes to be built on these sites. The suites will be targeted to low-income house holds. The Jubilee Fund provided a loan for the land acquisition.
A large number of families applied for residency and the first home became available for occupancy in mid October, 2010.
The second home opened in late November 2010. This is the third major development for Kikinaw Housing Inc. in West Broadway.
