Bridge financing made possible by Jubilee Fund investors helped create low-cost student housing and revitalize Winnipeg’s West End.
In 2002, Jubilee Fund bridge financing allowed Kinkora Development Ltd, in consultation with the University of Winnipeg, to purchase and renovate 457 Young Street—an abandoned apartment building.
The apartment was converted into low-cost student housing (23 suites) for University of Winnipeg students. The project contributed to neighborhood revitalization as it focused on utilizing a vacant abandoned building. In addition, it generated employment for local residents who worked on the renovations.
